Happy Friday, friends! It’s been a little quiet over here on our blog, and we think it’s about time we let you know what we’ve been up to! (Other than indulging in cookie butter ice cream cones, binge-watching Gilmore Girls late at night and working on this beautiful wedding, that is!)
In the past week, we’ve had to privilege to do what we love, a lot! Teach! And we feel so thankful. When we left our day jobs as teachers to pursue our wedding photography business full-time, we vowed that even though we were leaving the classroom, the classroom was never going to leave us. That our lives were always going to be about more than photography. That we were going to be about life change and making a significant difference, both in the lives of our couples and in the lives of others. Without committing to that, we’re not sure we ever would’ve been able to leave the classroom in the first place, but looking back now, we are so glad we did. We feel so called to where we are right now, and God has done and continues to do incredible things that leave us in awe — and we never want to take that for granted!
First up was a full-day coaching session with this cute smiling face! Lianna Marie traveled in from Las Vegas, and we really enjoyed spending the day dissecting her business and equipping her with the tools she needs to move forward.
Next up was our Phoenix PUG Group, which is a local monthly meet-up for photographers that regularly gets together in Old Town Scottsdale. We love plugging in to our local community, but have been on the road so much, that this was our first chance in a long time to do something for our hometown crew. As we mentioned, PUG normally meets in Old Town Scottsdale… but we got so many RSVPs this month that we had to change the venue to a spot that could hold more people! And THAT is how we ended up on the stage of a comedy improv club! We had to resist the urge to bring out those stools that stand-up comedians always keep their bottles of water on… you know… comedy stools! That’s a thing, right? We loved getting a chance to share our 5 Time Saving Tips & Tricks to Save Time and Make More Money in Your Business, connecting with familiar faces and lots of new ones too, and the best part has been hearing our fellow photographers’ success stories ever since!
Lastly, we had the privilege of speaking with our industry peers this week at this year’s Wedding Symposium, which was put on by the talented Jennifer Thye of Imoni Events and hosted by one of our favorite wedding venues, El Chorro. With a room full of Arizona’s best wedding planners, catering managers, florists, stationers, cake artists and more, we definitely had those pre-talk butterflies, but once we got up there and started looking at all the faces we loved, we were so thankful to have an opportunity to share our hearts on community.

So those are a few of the reasons why it’s been a little quiet in our tiny corner of the internet! We also spent a day working on home to-do projects that we’ve had on a list since FEBRUARY! Ah! Can anyone else relate?! Haha that’s always the thing that gets pushed to the bottom of our list! We’re making progress though, and are excited to share more with you soon! We’re currently preparing for our next group of workshop attendees to arrive this weekend, and can’t wait to meet our new bunch face-to-face! You can follow along in real-time on Instagram next Monday and Tuesday using #ajworkshop!
So cheers to a fulfilling week, friends!
