When we started discussing location ideas for Erika and Phillip’s engagement session, Erika didn’t miss a beat. She knew right away. Downtown Phoenix. Their home. Their stomping grounds. There was no place that felt more like “them.” Erika and Phillip live in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, and they love the colors, the culture and the character of the urban setting. Their date nights are always at those one-of-a-kind, so-delicious-you-can-hardly-stand-it downtown restaurants that we’re severely lacking here in Scottsdale, and they frequently walk the city admiring the art and figuring out which murals have changed. So you can imagine, we were stoked to shoot in a location that had so much meaning to them and had a blast exploring the vibrant color around every turn. With their great sense of humor and laid-back personalities, I’m not sure any of us stopped laughing during the entire shoot. It’s a wonder we got anything done at all! But do they know how to work it in front of the camera, or what? You can just feel the connection between them in theses photos. We had so much fun with these two, and the best news is their wedding is only a month or so away, so we get to hang with them all over again soon!
