This weekend, we flew to Charleston, South Carolina (one of our favorite cities in America) to speak to leaders all across the U.S. and Canada about leadership. We think there’s something inherently intimidating about speaking to leaders about leadership, by the way. It’s like Top Chef, Project Runway, or The Voice for communicators. You’re the one on the stage, but the talent is in the audience looking back at you. We were secretly hoping that Adam Levine would be there, too, and his chair would light up, spin around, and smoke would flare. (It didn’t.)
But it was such an honor to speak to a group of some of this industry’s best and the brightest. The movers and shakers. Creatives who have stepped up to lead because they believe in serving their clients with their whole hearts and supporting each other as colleagues instead of competitors. Lifting each other up when things get hard, and cheering each other on in the little things and the big. That’s what The Rising Tide Society is all about. And that’s why we jumped at the chance to speak to such an incredible group of people (and then envisioned a row of reality judge chairs lined up in the audience!) We talked about three obstacles of leadership that we believe are really just opportunities in disguise, and felt privileged to share our hearts with such an amazing group of individuals.
We also indulged in our fair share of Southern cuisine, learned how to mix craft cocktails and experienced some serious wrap-around-porch-envy. We attended a speakeasy-style 1920s soiree and danced the night away in sequins and suspenders, and most importantly spent time in real, meaningful conversation that will make this trip one we won’t soon forget!
It was another no-real-camera trip for us, so here are a few iPhone photos of our time in Chucktown!
This next set of photos are compliments of Austyn Elizabeth! Especially love this one of the amazing RTS Founders in their element.
And, of course, it wasn’t long before Jordan’s wizard hands hit the scene.
We especially love this photo from a very interactive moment during our talk! We can’t tell you more quite yet, but we’ll have more exciting things to share about these two cuties soon!
Until then, have you caught up on the rest of our Charleston adventures?
