Well, this is a fun one! Back in the fall, in the heat of wedding season (literally), we got a call from our talented friends at Imoni Events about a very different kind of stylized shoot. We’ve worked with the Imoni ladies on gorgeous styled shoots in the past, but this time, the primary focus of the shoot wasn’t photos; it was video! Starwood Hotels, a world renowned company responsible for some of the most luxurious properties in the world, including national beauties like The St. Regis Resorts and local treasures like The Phoenician, selected Imoni Events to style a national short film to showcase a wedding experience with Starwood! What an honor! So we of course were thrilled when Imoni asked us to be a part of the shoot, too, but our hearts quickly sank when we realized we had a double header (back-to-back weddings) the same weekend filming was scheduled to take place! We couldn’t resist being a part of such an amazing project, so we launched into action and made sure to find a way to make it all work.
We shot our wedding on Saturday and then got up before the sun to shoot these photos for the lovely Imoni ladies from sunrise until noon, then headed off to our second real wedding of the weekend! It was the first (and probably only!) time we’ll ever be able to say we shot three weddings in two days! It was about 23 hours of shooting in only 36 hours! Phew! You can bet we plowed through our fair share of coffee that weekend!
This shoot was extra fun for us because it was a completely different concept. Typically when we photograph styled shoots, most of the focus is on the ceremony and reception details, but since this shoot’s purpose was to tell a complete story through the video, show off the Starwood properties (like their gorgeous suites) and highlight their partnership with Kendra Scott jewelry, we got to spend the majority of our time shooting getting ready images and featuring all the beautiful jewelry while the film crew worked their magic. Now that the video is finished, we thought it would be fun to share a few of our favorites from our time together.
