Happy Wednesday, friends!
We’re flying from Phoenix to Virginia today for a two-week trip that’ll take us all over the place for all kinds of things, from Richmond and Virginia Beach for two AJ Workshops, to D.C. to do an engagement session (we hope it’s better than our last trip to the nation’s capital!), and to Fredericksburg for our first ever LIVE event with Katelyn James called “Come Together” where we’re going to host a meet-and-greet, tackle social media and blogging in four hours of teaching, and hold a one-hour panel where we’ll answer questions from the audience. It’s going to be a jam-packed few weeks and – to be honest – we’re exhausted just thinking about it! But we also can’t wait for the chance to connect with so many photographers and creative small business owners! We’re truly so blessed to do what we love, so no matter how crazy, stressful, or out of control life sometimes seems or feels, we wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world… except maybe calorie-less cookie butter.
Anyways, in the midst of all the crazy preparations for almost an entire June on the road (we’ll also hit Nashville and Denver before it’s all said and done) we had two incredible couples this past weekend, and we’re so, so grateful for them both, because we couldn’t have asked for two more sweet, relaxed, down-to-earth brides for a double-header wedding weekend leading into a two-week trip, but that’s how Pinar (pronounced like Tina with a P!) and Jeremy were from the second we met them for coffee a few months ago. Kind, courteous, thoughtful, and with all of their priorities in the right order: family and friends first. They had guests from multiple continents and more countries than we could count based on all the languages being spoken, starting with Pinar’s who came all the way from where she was born in Turkey, where we spent part of our anniversary trip this summer!
That, of course, meant the reception wouldn’t have been complete without some lamb skewers. Pinar insisted we try them because a) she’s Mediterranean and us Mediterraneans love to feed people! and b) she’s got a heart of gold and wanted to make sure WE were enjoying ourselves! There was also a Mediterranean dessert called baklava at the reception, which as a Greek, Jordan LOVED! Yum! So, needless to say, it was the PERFECT first wedding to kick off our weekend.
Pinar and Jeremy, thank you, from the bottom of our heart, for welcoming us into your life and treating US like family. We couldn’t have imagined surviving our first 105-degree wedding (plus some!) with anyone else but you two. Have the very best time in Hawaii on your honeymoon, and when you’re in Kauai, don’t forget the helicopter ride to the Jurassic Park waterfall. It’s worth the extra few dollars because it’s the experience of a lifetime! Here are a few of our favorite highlights from your big day! We hope you love them as much as we do!
