Glass vases of all sizes lined the aisle. White candles with their flickering flames floating inside them. Blush flower petals surrounding them. The sun was all but set in the west, tucked behind a towering mountain that looked down on the quiet scene below. The vows had been said. The rings exchanged. The kiss had. And the final pictures taken. We’d hugged the bride and groom goodnight. We bid them farewell. We started packing our cameras into our bag. Then, the guitarist started playing his strings again. We looked up and, in the middle of the aisle, amid the rose petals and amongst the flickering candles, we saw them. Hand-in-hand. Forehead-to-forehead. Heart-to-heart. Dancing. Their first as husband and wife. It wasn’t planned, but it was beautiful. She rested her head on his chest and he kissed the tops of hers, they swayed. Slowly. To the music. Lost in a moment that almost evaporated into history, but didn’t; because as soon as we saw it, such a sweet, quiet, private love between two people at the beginning of life’s greatest adventure, we knew it had to be documented for the rest of time. Other people needed to see it. Because love inspires love. And we need more of it. So we ran back to our bags, grabbed our cameras and captured it. We’re so glad we did.
Victoria and Marcelo, thank you, from the bottom of our heart, for trusting us with your intimate Four Seasons Troon North Scottsdale elopement. You two are the epitome of cool, calm, collected, and we’re grateful for the joyfulness and kindness you radiated on your wedding day. You’re both as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside, and we hope you love reliving last week as much as we do.
