Happy Tuesday, friends!
We got to shoot on a DOCK yesterday, which we know is the norm for photographers who live over here in Virginia Beach, but for us, we were just in photo-heaven!! We’re teaching Day 2 of the AJ Workshop in Virginia Beach today (and just loving our group!) so we couldn’t think of a more perfect time for the exciting news that the styled wedding inspiration shoot from our March workshop in Scottsdale is featured on Ruffled this week! Eek! We always feel a little bit like we’re unwrapping a Christmas gift when a styled shoot gets featured because we finally get to share the images the world hasn’t seen yet!
One of our favorite parts of the workshop experience are the hands-on learning opportunities that happen during the styled shoot. It’s an opportunity for attendees to watch us shoot live and troubleshoot through whatever situations come our way. It’s also a chance for them to implement everything they’ve been learning earlier in the day and apply it in a real-world (or as close to real-world as possible!) setting. And snagging a few new beautiful portfolio pieces never hurts either!
We’re able to provide gorgeous styled shoots (like this one) thanks in large part to a talented and generous creative team of top caliber wedding industry professionals who collaborate on a concept and bring it to life. Our sweet friend Andrea Leslie of Andrea Leslie Weddings was the uh-mazing designer here and we just love her tons and tons! She worked closely with Cynthia of LUX Florist to create a concept that had us SO excited from the first frame! You’ll notice A LOT of unique elements that we just love, especially the lavender IN the signature cocktail, a champagne tower and, of course, the glass ceremony structure. So modern yet elegant, too! We also always love working with couples who are married in real life! How stinkin’ adorable are Peter and Carrie?! And guess what else? They were workshop attendees, too, who have have three little ones at home, so it was so much fun to slip them into wedding attire and get them some anniversary pics!
