Lauren found us on Instagram. INSTAGRAM! We love how social media is allowing us to be connected with people we might never would’ve known, and in this case, who live only a few miles away from us in Scottsdale! Lauren and L.D. met their freshman year at Stanford and have been together ever since. It’s been two years since their wedding and they decided (or maybe Lauren decided!) that it was time for an anniversary session! She’s a medical student at the University of Arizona right now, so time’s limited, but there was an opening on Fourth of July weekend when they were beating the Arizona desert heat and vacationing up north in the red rock of Sedona! It was slightly overcast and drizzly — which we loved! — because we could shoot in ANY direction with the even, clean, natural light we love! Plus, how cute is Lauren’s dress and the way L.D. looks at her?!
As an added bonus, we drove back into Phoenix just as fireworks were starting to explode all over the city, so we ended up getting a few different shows instead of just one! We turned on our favorite local country station, which was playing a montage of patriotic songs (which we’re TOTALLY suckers for every. single. time), and we held hands and quietly sang along as Jordan drove and Amy rested her eyes from the computer screen for a few minutes. It wasn’t the most traditional Fourth we’ve ever had, but because of that moment, it was one of our favorites.
Lauren and L.D., we LOVED our time with you two and feel so thankful that technology brought us together for such a special shoot! You were both so sweet and an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish! Enjoy a few of our favorites!
