The sun was dropping from the Florida skies, slowly but surely settling behind the Disney World skyline, celebrating another day of magic and memories, and setting the stage for the ones soon to come. They’d spent an afternoon holding hands and boarding rides together, just the two of them, having the time of their life. Little did she know there was still one more attraction yet to come: the beginning of the ride – of the rest – of her life.
He reached out his hand. She reached out hers. He helped her from the dock onto the deck of a private yacht that was resting on the park’s still waters. It was just the two of them, just what she wanted, and just what he’d planned. The boat pushed back from the shore, and within seconds, amidst the busyness and distractions of the crowded park, they found themselves nestled into and focused on nothing but each other. In the calm on the water, the fireworks from the park began to light up the sky, and, before she knew it, he was down on one knee looking up at her, she was looking down at him, and the happiest place on Earth made him the happiest man on Earth and became someplace they’d never forget.
