It was the homecoming game. That’s where it all began.
Under the night sky, she stood on the high school track and looked out at the sea of maroon and white as the cheers echoed through the packed football stands. The lights of the field illuminated the poms that shook in her hands as the adrenaline raced through her body. It was half time, and the announcer had just said her name over the loud speaker, but she could barely hear it over the loud beating of her own heart. She looked up to see the announcer holding a script in his hand as his words echoed through her head, “Football player #44, Kyle Klien, would like to ask Miss Allie Mroczka to the homecoming dance.” The crowd went wild. The cute boy in the football uniform had just asked the beautiful cheerleader from the pom team to homecoming in front of the entire school, and the smile that spread across his face couldn’t have been any bigger as she nodded, “Yes.”
Fast forward ten years from the day that #44 asked a big, bold question to the sweet sophomore in her cheer uniform. Fast forward to now. He brought her back to that very same place. To the exact same field where it all began, and just like that, it all rushed back. The crowd, the excitement, the homecoming dance. Then their senior prom, their high school graduation and all of their adventures together since. Through college and the start of their careers. Every laugh. Every date night. Every I love you. It all came right back. It had been years since he framed that script the announcer read that night. The one that had contained a question she’d never forget. And, now, here they were, in that same spot. Together. He led her to that field, their field, and he dropped to his knee. He asked her another question, but this time, the question came with a ring.
Allie and Kyle, we absolutely adore you. We had so much fun with you two that we had to remind ourselves that we were “working,” during your session! Your personalities are dynamic, your smiles are infectious and your love is undeniable. Thank you for trusting us with your love story.
