Allie walked up the tiled Spanish steps, as the warm August breeze blew through her hair. She and Jon had vacationed in wine country plenty of times before – it’s their favorite spot – but this time was different. She just didn’t know it yet. Allie’s mom and dad live in California, so when Jon asked Allie’s dad’s permission to marry his daughter, the man who’d walk her down the aisle also wanted to be there when she said “Yes!”
So, Allie, Jon, and her parents spent a summer afternoon touring their favorite vineyard together. There’s a beautiful green garden at the bottom of some colorful tiled Spanish steps that lead to the tasting room overlooking the vineyard. Allie and Jon had taken pictures there before. They loved everything about that place. It felt like them. It just felt right.
As Allie walked up her favorite tiled Spanish steps, Jon stopped her to take another picture. After all, it was their spot. Allie turned toward her dad waiting at the bottom of the steps, but while she smiled at the camera, Jon smiled at her, got down on one knee, and asked her the question she’d been hoping for: “Will you marry me?”
We’re glad that Allie’s dad was there to capture memories of his daughter’s proposal on her favorite tile steps. We’re even more excited to capture memories of them together as they take their steps down the aisle this April as father and daughter.
We always love it when our clients think outside the box and do something different and special to them for their engagement session. For Allie and Jon, that meant incorporating some family history into theirs: a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback that’s been passed down in Jon’s family for generations. To top it off, Allie rented a smokin’ dress from Rent The Runway (our new favorite engagement session obsession) that put an exclamation point on the whole afternoon.
Allie and Jon, we loved capturing your love through our lenses, and we can’t wait until your big day this April!
The second half of the session included a runway dress, a classic car, and a whole lot of HEAT!
